NyxBoostNew name NyxBoost, program uninstalling and Premium purchase
- Includes the changes from versions 0.25–0.27.
- SafeBoost is now called NyxBoost (NyxBoost.exe, website nyxboost.com). The data folder is %LOCALAPPDATA%\NyxBoost: the old SafeBoost folder is moved over in full on first launch (settings, account sign-in, change history, backups). Task Scheduler tasks live in the “NyxBoost” folder, and autostart uses the “NyxBoost” entry. The link between your PC and your account does not change. When updating from within the app, the exe keeps its file name so shortcuts keep working.
- Apps → Programs: a list of installed programs with icons and a details card (publisher, version, size, date, folder, website). Uninstalling uses the program’s own uninstaller after confirmation; NyxBoost waits for it to finish and checks that the program is gone from the list.
- Leftovers after uninstalling: the install folder and folders named after the program in Program Files, ProgramData and AppData, with their size and the reason they were found. Each folder is selected separately and goes to the Recycle Bin. Settings folders and an install folder whose name does not look like the program (for example a shared D:\Games) are not pre-selected, and the latter comes with a warning. Folders of other installed programs, system folders and root folders are never offered.
- Apps → Updates via winget: a list of programs with available updates, “Update” and “Update all” after confirmation, line-by-line winget output and a stop button. A winget error is shown with its code and message instead of “no updates”; for a damaged catalog there is a hint to run winget source reset --force.
- NVIDIA sensors on the dashboard: GPU temperature, clock, power and fan, read through the driver (read-only). They are polled at most once every 5 seconds and not at all on battery, so a laptop’s discrete GPU is not woken up. On other graphics cards the row is hidden.
- Steam game covers come from Steam’s local cache — nothing is downloaded.
- Appearance: “Amethyst” and “Graphite” palettes; live CPU, memory and GPU graphs on the dashboard; a background animation that stops when the window is hidden or inactive and when Windows animations are turned off.
- Update checks now ask the NyxBoost server instead of GitHub: the old check was not finding new versions. “What’s new” shows the SHA-256 of the new NyxBoost.exe.
- “Download and update” right in the app: the update banner downloads the new version with progress, verifies the hash, replaces the exe and restarts NyxBoost. A file whose hash does not match is deleted and never run. If the exe is in a folder that cannot be written to without administrator rights, the verified file stays in the updates folder, which is opened for you. The old exe is removed on the next launch.
- NyxBoost always opens on the dashboard. The last section is restored only when the app restarts itself (language or appearance change, administrator rights).
- Buy Premium right in the app and on the website via Stripe (cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay; taxes included): “Account” → “Buy Premium”. Monthly ($2.99) and yearly ($19.99) are auto-renewing subscriptions, “Lifetime” ($34.99) is a one-time payment. Premium is added to your account automatically, usually within a minute, and is extended with every payment; after cancelling it works until the end of the paid period, and a refund removes it. “Manage subscription” lets you cancel, change your card and see receipts. A purchase made on the website before your first sign-in is credited when you sign in with the same e-mail. Buyers from Russia can get keys on marketplaces. “Premium code” is now called “Premium key”.
- New logo: a violet crescent moon with a star on night blue — in the app (exe icon, taskbar, sidebar) and on the website.
- The website is available in the app’s four languages: English is the main page (nyxboost.com), with Russian, Spanish and Chinese at /ru/, /es/, /zh/; the EN · RU · ES · 中文 switcher in the header remembers your choice. App screenshots match the page language.
- “Advisor” — a free AI chat right in the app: ask about the speed, gaming, cleanup and security of this PC. The AI knows the PC’s technical measurements (their exact text is under “What the AI sees”) and NyxBoost’s sections, and answers in the interface language. Signing in is required, and each account has a daily question limit (30 by default). Questions and answers are not stored. The AI never changes anything itself and does not advise turning off Windows protection. The local AI via Ollama has been removed.
- Graphics card in “Gaming readiness”: for NVIDIA, AMD and Intel — the driver version (NVIDIA’s in its own numbering, e.g. 617.14) and its age, with a hint to update if it is older than 3 months; whether the vendor’s app is installed (NVIDIA App, AMD Software: Adrenalin, Intel Graphics Software) with “Open” or “Download” from the official website; for NVIDIA — “NVIDIA Control Panel”. Setup tips for each vendor: where to find a setting, what to set and why (and when not to), and on laptops which GPU to choose for games. Integrated graphics next to a dedicated card are shown briefly. NyxBoost changes nothing in the driver.
- The color scheme and the “Focus” layout change without a restart: the window is rebuilt in the new look in a fraction of a second on the same page, at the same position and size; tray game mode, measurements and Premium checks are not interrupted. A restart is still needed only for a language change. If an operation is running, the new appearance is saved and applied later. The sidebar logo uses the scheme’s colors.
- Website prices in the visitor’s currency: based on the country (which is not stored), an approximate amount in the local currency at the day’s rate is shown next to the dollar price (“≈ 2,78 €”); Stripe shows the exact amount at checkout. For the US, or if the rate is unavailable, only dollars are shown. The free plan no longer shows “0 ₽”.
- Change history in the current language: entries made before a language change are shown in the new language (including phrases with numbers); registry paths and values stay as they are.
