Which versions of Windows are supported?

Windows 10 version 1809 and later and Windows 11, 64-bit (x64).

Do I need to install NyxBoost?

No. It is a single exe file: download and run it. Settings, the change history and backups are kept in %LOCALAPPDATA%\NyxBoost.

Windows says “Windows protected your PC”. Is that normal?

Yes. NyxBoost is not signed with a paid developer certificate yet, so SmartScreen does not know it. Check the file's SHA-256 (how) and click “More info” → “Run anyway”.

My antivirus flags NyxBoost. What should I do?

A few antivirus engines with heuristics sometimes wrongly flag unsigned programs. Download the file only from nyxboost.com and check the SHA-256; the scan of the file by dozens of engines is on VirusTotal (linked on the download page). We report false positives to the vendors.

Is it safe? Will it break my system?

NyxBoost changes nothing without your confirmation, saves the old values and verifies the result. It never turns off Windows protection. Before changes that need administrator rights it offers to create a restore point.

How do I put everything back?

The Recovery section: the history of all changes with an Undo button on each entry. You can also undo a whole profile.

Will my FPS go up?

It depends on the game and the hardware, and we do not promise numbers. FPS Lab lets you measure “before” and “after” honestly: a difference counts only if the series of measurements do not overlap.

Do I need administrator rights?

Not for viewing and most features. For settings marked “Admin”, services, SFC/DISM and restore points NyxBoost restarts with rights only when you press the button.

What data is sent?

No telemetry, no ads. The network is used for update checks, your account (if you sign in) and features you start yourself. Details: the privacy policy.

What is free and what is Premium?

Optimization with preview and undo, cleanup, startup and services, security checks, privacy, network, diagnostics and repair are free for good. Premium adds game profiles and automatic game mode, scheduled automation, the speed test with history, extra themes and cursors. Prices are on the home page.

On how many PCs does Premium work?

On one PC at a time per account; you can change the PC once every 15 days. Premium lives in the account and moves to a new PC with it.

Does Premium work offline?

For a while: NyxBoost remembers a confirmed Premium and works offline for up to 72 hours, then it needs to go online once.

How do I cancel a subscription?

In the app: Account → Manage subscription, or the “Manage subscription” link on the site. After cancelling there are no more charges, and Premium works until the end of the paid period. Refunds follow the refund policy.

How do updates work?

NyxBoost checks for a new version at start and every 30 minutes. “Update now” downloads it from nyxboost.com, checks its SHA-256 and restarts the app; you can also turn on automatic updates.

How do I uninstall NyxBoost?

Undo the changes you do not want in Recovery, turn off autostart, then delete NyxBoost.exe and the folder %LOCALAPPDATA%\NyxBoost. NyxBoost installs no services, drivers or hidden tasks. Details here.

Where do I write if something does not work?
