Windows Game Mode
While a game is in the foreground, Windows gives it priority and postpones update installs and notifications.
Expected effect
Less background interference while gaming. Average FPS usually does not change; drops may happen less often.Possible side effects
In very old games and rare configurations it may cause stutters: revert it then. What exactly changes
| Registry key | Value | Type | New value |
|---|---|---|---|
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\GameBar | AutoGameModeEnabled | DWord | 1 |
How to undo it
Before a change NyxBoost saves the previous values; "Revert" brings them back and removes those that did not exist before.
- In NyxBoost: Recovery → “Revert” next to this setting's entry.
- Without the program: open the Registry Editor (regedit), go to the key from the table and put back the previous value — NyxBoost records it in its change history.
How NyxBoost checks the result
After applying, NyxBoost reads the values again and compares them with the expected ones. To see the real effect on your PC, use FPS Lab: it measures the same game before and after.
