The "High performance" power plan
The CPU stays at high clock speeds longer and does not enter deep power-saving states.
Expected effect
Faster response to sudden load. On a desktop the difference is usually small.Possible side effects
Higher power consumption and heat. On a laptop the battery drains noticeably faster. What exactly changes
| Registry key | Value | Type | New value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Active power plan | High performance |
How to undo it
Undo turns on the power plan that was active before the change.
- In NyxBoost: Recovery → “Revert” next to this setting's entry.
- Without the program: Control Panel → Power Options → choose the plan you used before.
How NyxBoost checks the result
After switching, NyxBoost queries the active plan via powercfg /getactivescheme. To see the real effect on your PC, use FPS Lab: it measures the same game before and after.
